I’m Kristin. I’m a wife, a mom, a friend. I’m also a communications professional in a small, rural public school district in Kansas. I love what I do, I love why I do it, and I love the people with me on this journey.
But just beneath my purposefully-worded, properly outfitted exterior, it gets a little crazy. I have second thoughts. And third thoughts. I live for great ideas but know that a great idea is only inspiration for the place where the real work begins. I wrestle with the creative process. I have a love-hate relationship with parallel word structures and a hate-hate relationship with tri-fold brochures. I have a powerful aesthetic instinct, but a frustrating lag in execution. And a due date is often the only thing that brings my compulsive editing to a merciful end.
Layer these mind battles over my multi-tasking-working-mom-Siri-please-don’t-let-me-forget-to-buy-milk-tonight self, and the ride can get pretty wacky.
But Steve Jobs famously said, “The people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world are the ones who do.”
Here I welcome all communicators, bleeding hearts and lovers of ideas. Because I truly believe our work has the power to change the world if we fire up our passion, embrace the process and do the work. We absolutely are just crazy enough.
